This session is from a few weeks back now, I was contacted by an old school friend Jill and asked to photograph their children which I was so pleased to be given the opportunity to do so! Its great to see how people you havent seen for 22 years are doing (wow that went quick!!) and to meet their children is just awesome. We grow up and get older but I still feel the same as I did when I was at school!
So onto the session, its was one of those days when I kept my fingers crossed for some beautiful morning sunshine ! I timed the photo session around the position of the sun/sunrise which would produce awesome light, I just hoped for no rain!! It was forecast for wind and rain that day so I got a lucky break when I turned up to photograph Adam, Zoe and their cousin. We started off with a couple of shots inside which I let the children take photos of each other first which broke the ice and made for a relaxing and fun session. A beautilful red wall in the kitchen made for my first backdrop and the gorgeous morning light flowing through the french doors was the perfect light source!
Balloons always make kids smile and make for a great prop in an image. After a few more shots we headed into the garden where the light was still perfect and at the bottom of the garden they had a small summer house with some great colours which made for some great backdrops.
The light and the colours made for some cool photos of Adam.
The light remained with us the whole time we photographed around the summer house. After a few more shots we had a little fun with some props.
This is the first time I have used props in a photo session it did surprise me how well they can work and you do get some great reactions from the kids.
Now there is one word which gets the kids laughing every time it begins with a p and ends with a p? and who done it!
so we ended the session with a little game and one last photo on the lawn.
Great kids, great session and great fun!!
